Transition Manager

Purpose:

To plan, coordinate, and execute seamless transitions of services, processes, projects, or teams from one operating environment to another, ensuring minimal risk, zero disruption, and successful handover to steady-state operations.

Main Priorities:

• Develop and govern end-to-end transition plans.
• Manage stakeholders and client expectations.
• Lead transition activities using project management best practices.
• Ensure structured knowledge transfer and documentation.
• Identify and mitigate risks, issues, and manage changes.
• Oversee resource onboarding/offboarding and capacity planning.
• Drive service stabilization and smooth handover to BAU.

Implement continuous improvement and standardization.

Key Outputs:

• Comprehensive transition plans and governance frameworks.
• RAID logs and risk mitigation strategies.
• Knowledge Transfer completion with validated documentation (SOPs, SLAs, runbooks).
• Transition dashboards and progress reports.
• Stabilization metrics and handover sign-off.
• Standardized templates and automation initiatives for future transitions.

Skills/ Knowledge:

A. Technical & Functional:

• Expertise in technology transitions (infra, cloud, applications, cybersecurity).
• Proficiency in MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, JIRA, Confluence.
• Knowledge of operational processes and ITIL framework.

B. Behavioral & Leadership:

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to manage ambiguity and fast-paced environments.
• Leadership experience with cross-functional teams.

Experience

• 715 years in project or transition management.
• Proven track record of managing end-to-end transitions for large clients.
