Job Duties

Role Summary

Key responsibilities

Books & Records Oversight

• Strengthen governance and control practices around

  trading books, accounting records and balance sheet substantiation

• Ensure reconciliations, account ownership and proofing processes are

  consistent, well-designed and applied uniformly

• Review and enhance frameworks for

  account population management and reconciliation standards

Balance Sheet & Controls

• Partner with Finance teams to ensure

  accurate balance sheet substantiation

  and effective control design
• Support reserve processes by identifying

  aged breaks, recurring exceptions and root causes

• Ensure reserve methodologies and exception handling are

  well-documented and consistently applied

Issue Management & Risk

• Oversee exception management, including

  timely escalation, root-cause analysis and remediation tracking

• Strengthen issue management processes to ensure

  emerging risks are identified early and addressed appropriately

• Partner with Risk & Control teams to ensure compliance with

  internal policies and accounting standards

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Trading, Operations, Finance, Technology and Control teams to ensure

  upstream processes and data flows are robust

• Support transformation and change initiatives by embedding

  financial control considerations early in the design

• Promote consistent standards across global teams and shared service locations

Process Improvement & Transformation

• Drive standardisation and simplification of reconciliation and accounting processes
• Support initiatives related to

  ledger design, accounting flows and system enhancements

• Partner with Technology teams on control automation and data quality improvements

Leadership & Capability Building

• Act as a senior escalation point for books and records-related matters
• Support training and capability development across teams to improve

  accounting and control awareness

• Contribute to firm-wide governance forums and strategic initiatives related to accounting and controls

Qualification

• Bachelor’s / Master's degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline / Professional courses like Chartered Accountancy

Skills Required

• Experience in

  financial accounting, product control, books & records or financial controls

• Strong understanding of

  trading products and post-trade accounting flows

• Proven experience in

  balance sheet substantiation, reconciliations, exception ageing analysis and control frameworks

• Strong understanding of

  accounting entries, ledger structures and sub-ledger to general ledger flows

  for trading-related activities
• Ability to assess and improve

  financial control design

  , incl preventive and detective controls across end-to-end processes
• Exposure to

  financial systems, ledgers, reconciliations tools and data flows

• Experience working on

  change, remediation or transformation initiatives

• Strong stakeholder management and leadership capabilities
• Ability to make sound judgement on complex accounting and operational issues
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to work in a

  hybrid Pune-based role (3 days client office)
