Job Overview: The Customs Compliance Manager will be responsible for the professional handling of the company's import and export activities related to customs, quarantine, and other governmental departments. Key responsibilities include processing customs declarations, managing import and export documentation, ensuring compliance with import and export regulations, and optimizing customs procedures to reduce costs. Responsibilities: 1. Import and Export Declaration and Document Management - Handle import clearance: Arrange imports based on supplier-provided information and prepare clearance documents. - Track the progress of cargo clearance to ensure smooth customs entry and exit. - Ensure the accuracy of import and export customs information for raw materials, with zero errors or customs administrative penalties. 2. Customs Compliance Management - Familiar with Indian import and export clearance processes and proficient in Indian maritime laws and regulations. - Good to have Chinese maritime law and other relevant import and export laws and regulations. - Handle customs inquiries, tax calculations, abnormal declarations, and customs disputes. - Maintain classification of all material customs codes and other basic customs information data. - Conduct general trade import and export customs operations and document archiving. - Conduct customs operations in comprehensive bonded area warehouses, manage raw material recordation procedures. 3. Tax Management and Optimization - Familiar with policies on tariffs, VAT, and excise tax to assist the company in optimizing tax costs. - Apply for tax incentive policies (e.g., tax exemptions, tax rebates, bonded warehouses). 4. Communication and Coordination with Government Departments - Maintain good relationships with customs, quarantine, and other departments to ensure a smooth customs process. - Timely obtain and convey the latest customs policy information internally within the company. 5. Customs Process Optimization - Review and improve customs operations processes to enhance clearance efficiency and reduce operational risks and time costs. 6. Other Related Work - Liaise with logistics to confirm bookings and coordinate warehouse shipments. - Submit import tax payments to finance, compile monthly customs declaration documents, and compile monthly tax payment lists. - Verify, settle, and apply for payment of monthly agency customs declaration fees. - Check customs declaration fees and follow up on approval processes, ensuring proper budgeting. Qualification: I. Bachelors degree or above, preferably in international trade, logistics management, business administration, customs and international freight, or related fields. II. More than 10years of experience in customs or related import and export declaration activities. III. Experience in customs work or customs brokerage for import and export manufacturing firms preferred. IV. Familiar with import and export regulations and procedures (e.g., HS code, regulatory conditions, tax benefit policies). V. Proficient in clearance system operations. VI. Understanding of bonded logistics policies and practical operations. VII. Basic knowledge of foreign trade, such as trade terms and freight operation processes. VIII. Strong English skills preferred (for handling and communicating international business documents). IX. Understanding of the collaborative operation model between brand owners and ODM/OEM suppliers. X. Proficient in Excel functions and data processing software as well as ERP systems like Oracle. XI. Able and willing to travel domestically to India factories.
