So, whatever your role, if you share our passion for helping others, you will be working towards creating a better and fairer future for all.In this role, you will work as a technical writer for user documentation (IFUs) delivered to end customers and service documentation deliverables catering to field service engineers. This role requires knowledge of the content management system as well as knowledge of the use of the system. Technical writers work closely with product development teams, engineering teams, technical illustrators, graphic designers, editors, and localization teams.
To succeed in this role, you will need a customer-first attitude and the following skills and experience:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electronics, Software, Mechanical, Biomedical Engineering
- 8+ years of experience in technical documentation
- Strong command of English language, proven skills in writing and editing
- Effective communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Practical experience of content management system
- Experience in working with XML authoring tools
- Expertise with Adobe FrameMaker and Microsoft Office
Preferred: Background in producing medical device user documentation; experience in project management and/or localization will be a plus.
Other required skills:
- Exceptional communication skills, with ability to research, interpret, analyze, and write by interpreting technical source information and determining appropriateness for inclusion into documentation.
- Being proactive in taking ownership of the deliverables and related tasks.
- Builds product knowledge & understand structure / Content Management System of existing manuals in SCHEMA ST4
- Strong XML skills, including troubleshooting, with demonstrated experience in topic-based, structured writing.
- Able to prioritize work, balance multiple projects, and meet strict deadlines, with proven ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.
- Experience working in a highly regulated industry, as well as working in a procedure-intense department.
- Demonstrated success in working in a highly collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- Willingness to work on systems hands-on.
- Takes E2E ownership of assigned manual to deliver, gathers the required support/inputs.
- Good experience working with Illustrations and graphics. Experience in working with Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop tools.
- Researching and embracing new technologies and tools to improve documentation quality and department productivity.
- Proactively identifying ways to improve internal processes, templates, style guides, and usability of our documentation set.
How We Work Together
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities.Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.Indicate if this role is an office/field/onsite role.
