We are at an inflection point: scaling clinics, improving unit economics, and launching differentiated consumer tech products. This role sits at the heart of that journey.
We are looking for a Tech Lead who can own and scale Dezy’s backend technology foundation (CRM, clinic ops systems, integrations) while conceptualising and building consumer-facing digital dental care products.
This is a hands-on leadership role with high autonomy and long-term ownership.
For the first 3–6 months, the focus will be on strengthening backend systems, reliability, and operational efficiency before aggressively building new consumer products.

Backend & Core Tech Operations (Initial 3–6 months – Priority)

Own and stabilise Dezy’s CRM and clinic operations tech stack

Improve: Reliability & uptime

Data integrity and reporting

Feature rollout velocity

Work closely with operations, sales, and clinic teams to reduce friction through tech

Lead backend architecture decisions with scale, security, and extensibility in mind

Drive documentation, monitoring, and tech hygiene (logging, alerts, SOPs)
2. Consumer-Facing & AI-led Products (Mid-term focus)

Conceptualise and build consumer-facing tech offerings, including:

AI-led dental care & preventive programs

D2C consultations and follow-ups

Patient education, engagement, and retention tools

Partner with business, brand, and clinical leaders to translate real patient problems into tech products

Drive rapid experimentation (MVPs, pilots, iterations)
3. Tech Leadership & Ownership

Act as tech owner, not just execution lead

Make build vs buy decisions

Set coding standards, review practices, and architecture principles

Mentor junior engineers / external vendors as the team scales

Represent tech in leadership discussions and planning
Clear understanding of Dezy’s business, clinics, and customer journeys
Backend tech issues prioritised and roadmap defined
Improved stability and response times in core systems
CRM and clinic tech running reliably with fewer manual workarounds
Faster feature rollout cycles
First consumer-facing or AI-led pilot launched

Strong hands-on expertise in one backend stack (Node.js / Python )

Design and build robust APIs, data models, and backend services

Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code that others can extend

Implement retries, logging, monitoring, and failure handling by default

Work confidently with relational databases (Postgres / MySQL) and basic cloud infrastructure

6–8 years of experience in backend / full-stack engineering

Top-tier academic pedigree (IITs / IISc / top global universities preferred)
