About The Role

We are looking for a

Senior Backend Engineer

to design, develop, and maintain mission-critical financial services systems. You will work on

serverless and containerized applications

, integrate with payment providers, build event-driven workflows, and ensure high reliability and observability across distributed systems.This role also involves

leading a small team of developers

, mentoring, reviewing code, and ensuring best practices across projects.The position focuses on

loan lifecycle management, lien marking, eligibility checks, and payment processing

, delivering scalable, maintainable, and production-grade solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain backend services using

Node.js

TypeScript

, and

NestJS

in both

serverless (Lambda)

and

containerized (ECS/ECR with Docker)

environments.Build APIs and workflows for

loan management

lien marking

eligibility checks

, and

payment processing

(Razorpay, Cashfree).Work with

PostgreSQL

and

MySQL

using

Drizzle ORM

, writing efficient queries and optimizing data models.Design and maintain

event-driven systems

using

EventBridge, SQS

, and partner webhooks for audit logging and async workflows.

Lead a small team of developers

: mentor, conduct code reviews, enforce best practices, and manage task assignments.Ensure

system performance, reliability, and observability

, troubleshooting high-throughput production issues.Collaborate with product, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver

robust, production-ready solutions

Required Skills

Backend & Language:

Node.js, TypeScript, NestJS, serverless frameworks (SST).

Cloud & Containerization:

AWS Lambda, ECS, ECR, API Gateway, EventBridge, SQS, S3, CloudWatch, Docker.

Database:

PostgreSQL, MySQL, Drizzle ORM, query optimization, schema design.

Payments & Integrations:

Razorpay, Cashfree, or similar fintech APIs.

System Design:

Event-driven workflows, retries, idempotency, async processing.

Team Leadership:

Mentoring, code reviews, task management, enforcing development best practices.
