Team Manager

The opportunity:

As Team Manager at INOPC-Grid Automation, Chennai you will be responsible for a given team s operation, resource allocation, development of competence and people development. You will also need to collaborate with various cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers. You will work at the global market. You will be part of local management and act as a sounding board within the organization. Analysis and risk management will also be among your tasks. You will in many ways be the person at the center of things. Together with the tender responsible you will also handle tenders.

Your Responsibilities:

• Resource planning for medium to long term and allocating based on the forecast of tenders with global organization.
• Ensuring KPI of the department (e. g. , on time delivery, Quality, productivity).
• Ensuring achieving financial budget.
• Reviewing and approving techno-economic offering by your line in a tender/project, assess risk and opportunity.
• Run routine review & follow-up with the project team and other cross-functional teams, supplier, and customers.
• Recruit personnel as per HC budget.
• Accountable for the team as per HITACHI Energy Group compliance, Integrity, Health & Safety.
• Improving process when needed.
• Technical support and contribution.
• Responsible for personnel assessments / people s review, target setting for the direct reports.
• Identify people s development area(s) and implement development plan.
• Identify key competence area and have succession planning.
• Motivate the team to always maintain high energy level.
• Participate in unit s strategic work and develop local strategy.
• Workout future scope expansion and competence development.
• Drive operation development for the local organization.
• Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background:

• 8-15 years of experience in Tendering process.
• Strong knowledge in Substation Automation & Control & Protection.
• As prior engineering & tendering experience, to handle tenders and manage risk assessments.
• Familiarity with AI technologies.
• Very good analytical skills.
• Has good negotiation skills.
• Strong understanding of contract law, procurement processes, and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft office tools (Excel, Word & PowerPoint).
• Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
