Tableau Lead / Architect

About the Role

We are looking for a highly experienced Analytics Tech Lead / Architect who can drive the design, development, and delivery of enterprise-grade BI solutions using Tableau, Databricks, and modern cloud platforms.
You will partner closely with the stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into scalable, intuitive, and performant analytics solutions. This is a hands-on leadership role—balancing architecture, solution design, data modelling, and dashboard development.

Key Responsibilities

1. Tableau Architecture & Solutioning

• Architect and design enterprise Tableau solutions, including semantic layers, data models, and dashboard frameworks.

• Define visualization standards, UX guidelines, KPI logic, and reusable templates across business units.

• Review and optimize existing dashboards for performance, scalability, and storytelling clarity.

• Establish best practices for data consumption, publishing, and governance within Tableau Server/Cloud.

2. Databricks & Data Modelling

• Collaborate with data engineering teams to design robust data models aligned with BI needs.

• Validate and guide the creation of curated datasets, Delta Lake structures, and optimized query layers for Tableau consumption.

• Ensure data pipelines meet the performance, quality, and refresh requirements of complex Tableau workloads.

3. Cloud Architecture

• Work with cloud-native services (Azure preferred; AWS acceptable) to design end-to-end analytics flows.

• Recommend best practices for storage, compute, metadata management, and security.

• Oversee integration of Databricks with cloud data platforms and Tableau.

4. Technical Leadership

• Lead and mentor BI developers and data engineers; provide technical reviews and solution direction.

• Drive architecture discussions with the client’s senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

• Ensure adherence to enterprise standards around code quality, documentation, security, and data governance.

5. Python & Automation

• Use Python for light ETL, data transformation, validation scripts, and process automation within Databricks or cloud environments.

• Guide teams on leveraging Python-based optimizations for BI workloads where required.

Required Skills & Experience

Core Must-Haves

• 12+ years in analytics, BI, and data visualization.

• Deep expertise with Tableau: LODs, performance tuning, semantic modelling, dashboard design, and governance.

• Strong understanding of Databricks: Delta Lake concepts, tables, notebooks, and query optimisation.

• Cloud experience on Azure or AWS (Azure preferred).

• Proficiency in Python for data transformations and automation.

Architecture & Leadership

• Proven experience architecting enterprise-scale BI solutions.

• Ability to translate ambiguous business needs into clear technical specifications.

• Experience working directly with senior business and technology leaders.

• Capability to mentor/guide a team of BI/ETL developers.

Good to Have

• Experience with Power BI or Qlik (not mandatory).

• Knowledge of data governance frameworks and best practices.

• Experience in audit, tax, or financial analytics (bonus).
