System Engineer (Fresher)

Platform & IT Engineering team

Linux systems, networking, automation, and modern DevOps/Edge technologies

The Candidate Will Be Trained And Mentored To Handle

• System administration
• OS provisioning
• Docker based platform support
• Basic DevOps workflows
• Infrastructure operations for Edge computing devices
  

Key Responsibilities

• System Administration & Support
• Assist in installing, configuring, and maintaining operating systems (Linux/Windows).
• Support hardware/software setup for Intel/Asus NUCs and GPU servers.
• Monitor system performance, availability, and security.
• Troubleshoot system issues and diagnose hardware/software faults.
• Help implement system updates, patches, and routine backups.
• OS Provisioning & Automation
• Support automated OS installation using PXE / Network Boot.
• Assist in writing or maintaining basic automation scripts (Shell/Python).
• Learn and help maintain Ansible for system configuration and automation.
• Platform Support
• Assist senior engineers in Docker-based platform setup and testing.
• Perform basic deployment, verification, and troubleshooting of Docker-based services.
• Help maintain installation manuals and platform documentation.
• Networking & IT Operations
• Provide support for network-related issues (LAN, Wi-Fi, Cameras, IP configurations).
• Assist in maintaining IT asset inventory and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with IT policies and security guidelines.
• Support end-users by resolving basic hardware and software queries.
  

Key Performance Indicators

• Timely resolution of hardware/software issues (closure within defined SLA).
• Accuracy in system installation and configuration tasks (Windows/Linux).
• System uptime monitoring and timely reporting of performance issues.
• Response time to end-user support queries (ticket acknowledgment & handling).
• Quality of troubleshooting for system, network, and device faults.
• Adherence to IT security policies and compliance guidelines.
• Completion of system upgrades, patches, and backups as per schedule.
• Proper documentation of procedures, checklists, and knowledge-based updates.
  

Skills & Qualifications

Education

• BE/BTech/MCA/MSc (CS/IT) or equivalent.
  

Required Skills

• Good understanding of Linux/Windows operating systems.
• Basic knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• Familiarity with command-line usage.
• Strong problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  

Good to Have

• Basic exposure to Docker and cloud concepts.
• Understanding of virtualization.
• Knowledge of scripting (Shell/Python).
• Interest or experience in PXE, OS imaging, Ansible, or system automation.
• Awareness of basic cloud concepts (AWS/EC2/S3).
