Job Summary:

The System Engineer will be responsible for managing and maintaining multiple IT portals and ensuring secure, stable, and efficient system operations. The role includes system hardening, regular security updates, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues, and resolving problems related to servers, workstations, and peripherals. The incumbent will support day-to-day IT operations, coordinate with internal teams to minimize downtime, and assist in maintaining secure IT environments. Candidates with hands-on system administration experience, basic cybersecurity knowledge, and exposure to government or law enforcement IT setups will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage multiple portals such as NCTC, Cytrain, and Cyber Commando Platform.
  • Apply system hardening and security best practices, including disabling unnecessary services, securing configurations, and configuring firewalls and antivirus tools.
  • Regularly update operating systems, applications, and firmware to patch security vulnerabilities and protect systems against cyber threats.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to computers, workstations, and servers, including hardware failures, OS errors, and software crashes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues such as connectivity problems, IP conflicts, DNS issues, and network device failures.
  • Resolve issues related to monitors, displays, projectors, and other peripherals, including configuration and connectivity problems.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth IT operations and minimal downtime.

Skills & Requirements

  • Educational Qualification:
  • B.E / B.Tech in Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Information Technology / Electronics / Electronics & Communication / Electronics & Telecommunication OR MCA From a recognized University / Institution
  • Technical Knowledge & Experience:
  • Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in system administration and network management.
  • Practical experience with Windows, Linux, or macOS operating systems and routine system administration tasks.
  • Experience in maintaining and managing web portals, handling IT tickets, user management, data management, and system troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of networking concepts including IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
  • Exposure to virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) will be an added advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of cyber security principles, system hardening, and endpoint protection practices.
  • Familiarity with scripting or automation tools (PowerShell, Bash) for automating routine administrative tasks is desirable.
  • Other Skills:
  • Good communication skills and strong technical aptitude.
  • Basic working knowledge of MS Excel.
  • Awareness of government IT environments; candidates with prior experience working with Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) will be preferred.
