Job Purpose/ Summary

To lead and manage the Quality Control function in ensuring that all stainless steel pipes meet required quality standards and customer specifications and will assist in inspection, testing, documentation, and process control activities to maintain consistent product quality and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the plant.

Support - SMS - QC - SteelThe Quality Control Engineer is responsible for leading and overseeing all quality assurance and quality control activities in the stainless steel pipe manufacturing plant. The role ensures that products consistently meet applicable international standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements. The incumbent manages inspections, testing, audits, and quality systems, drives continuous improvement initiatives, leads the QC team, and works closely with production and customers to maintain high product quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction.

Principal Accountabilities

Perform and supervise NDT activities such as UT RT MPI LPI and Eddy Current Testing on steel pipes ensuring accurate defect identification and reportingbr Interpret NDT results with precision and ensure the proper calibration and functioning of NDT equipmentbr Monitor both online and offline NDT systems during pipe production to maintain quality standardsbr Ensure all NDT activities comply with relevant standards such as API ASTM ASME ISO EN and customerspecific requirementsbr Prepare review and approve NDT procedures techniques and work instructions to uphold quality and compliancebr Support internal and external audits conducted by customers thirdparty entities and certification bodiesbr Maintain traceability and comprehensive documentation of all inspection recordsbr Analyze NDT rejection trends and support root cause analysis to identify areas for improvementbr Coordinate with Production and QA teams to reduce defects and improve yield through effective process improvementsbr Recommend enhancements in inspection methods and testing efficiency to optimize operationsbr Ensure the safe handling and use of radiation sources particularly if RT is applicable and monitor preventive maintenance schedules for NDT equipmentbr Ensure compliance with safety health and environmental regulations to maintain a safe working environmentbr Guide and supervise NDT technicians and inspectors providing training and qualification supportbr Assist in the certification and recertification processes as per ISO 9712 ASNT PCN standards
