Strategic Sourcing Head (Apparel)

As the Strategic Sourcing Head, you will lead sourcing strategy, manage supplier relationships, and oversee the end-to-end sourcing process with an objective of optimising the costs and the sourcing operations to bring in efficiency in the entire system. This role involves frequent travel to Tirupur to ensure product quality, timely delivery, and alignment with business goals.

Location: Bangalore/Mumbai (with frequent travel to Tirupur)

Experience: 15+ years of experience in sourcing, with strong expertise in the apparel industry.

Salary: Upto 40 LPA

Key Responsibilities:

● Develop and implement sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives, focused on driving operational efficiencies — reducing lead time, improving quality processes, and better cash flow management.

● Identify, negotiate, and onboard good-quality, experienced suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery. Must have strong experience in apparel sourcing and excellent vendor management skills (supplier selection, negotiation, supplier performance improvement, and relationship management).

● Lead and mentor the sourcing team, set KPIs, and ensure high-performance delivery.

● Build and execute long-term sourcing roadmaps aligned with product development and business growth.

● Drive cost optimization through strategic negotiations, supplier consolidation, alternate sourcing and value-engineering.

● Develop and implement a supplier scorecard process and use it to drive supplier performance improvements.

● Monitor industry and market trends, identify risks, and optimize sourcing processes to mitigate supplier and operational risks.

● Ensure compliance with quality standards, audits, ethical sourcing, and sustainability practices.

● Collaborate closely with Design, Production, Quality, Logistics, and Finance to ensure seamless execution and timely fulfilment.

● Forecast and plan material / capacity requirements based on business projections and seasonality.

● Strengthen strategic partnerships with key suppliers to secure innovation, capacity, and competitive advantage.

Qualifications:

● 15+ years of experience in sourcing, with strong expertise in the apparel industry.

● Proven success in managing supplier relationships and sourcing operations.

● Ability to travel frequently to Tirupur.

● Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills to drive and manage a team effectively

● Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field (MBA preferred).

Pay: ₹3,000,000.00 - ₹4,000,000.00 per year
