Job Description

Oversee day-to-day functioning of the hospital store.
Maintain accurate inventory of medical supplies, surgical instruments, medicines, and equipment.
Ensure timely procurement of materials through approved vendors.
Coordinate with various hospital departments (ICU, OT, Pharmacy, Nursing, etc.) for supply requirements.
Maintain records of stock received, issued, and balance levels.
Monitor expiry dates and ensure safe disposal of expired/obsolete stock.
Implement FIFO (First In, First Out) and FEFO (First Expiry, First Out) methods for inventory management.
Supervise staff involved in receiving, stocking, and distribution of supplies.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, statutory requirements, and quality standards.
Prepare reports on stock levels, consumption trends, and budget utilization.
Negotiate with suppliers for, quality and timely delivery.
Conduct periodic audits to prevent stock discrepancies and pilferage.
Ensure proper storage conditions for sensitive medical items (temperature-controlled storage).
Knowledge of medical equipment, consumables, and drugs.
Strong organizational and leadership skills.
Proficiency in hospital inventory management software/ERP.
Good communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet urgent supply demands.
Knowledge about NABH standard and compliance.
