Role Overview
The Store Incharge will be responsible for managing the overall functioning of the stores department in the manufacturing unit. The role includes overseeing receipt, storage, and issue of raw materials, consumables, spare parts, and finished goods while ensuring proper documentation, inventory accuracy, and compliance with safety and company policies. The person will play a key role in supporting production continuity by maintaining timely availability of materials and efficient stock management.
Key Responsibilities:-
1. Inventory Management
Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing materials.
Ensure proper stocking, identification, and preservation of raw materials, consumables, tools, and spares.
Implement First-In-First-Out (FIFO) / First-Expire-First-Out (FEFO) inventory practices.
Regularly monitor minimum, maximum, and reorder levels to avoid stockouts.
Conduct physical stock verification and reconcile with system balances.
2. Material Handling & Documentation
Supervise receipt, inspection, and storage of materials against purchase orders and challans.
Issue raw materials, tools, and consumables to production departments based on requisitions.
Ensure proper documentation such as GRN (Goods Receipt Note), Issue Slips, Material Return Notes, etc.
Maintain stock ledgers and update ERP/Excel inventory systems daily.
3. Coordination & Communication
Coordinate with the Purchase department for timely replenishment of stock.
Work with the Production team to ensure uninterrupted supply of materials.
Liaise with the Accounts/Finance team for material costing and vendor invoice matching.
Support the Dispatch team in finished goods handling and packaging.
4. Store Operations
Organize storage space for easy access and optimal use of warehouse capacity.
Ensure safe handling and storage of materials, including hazardous and fragile items.
Monitor housekeeping and maintain a clean, safe, and systematic store environment.
Manage inward/outward movement of goods with transporters and logistics providers.
5. Compliance & Control
Ensure proper adherence to company SOPs for material movement.
Implement safety protocols for handling heavy/flammable materials.
Support statutory and internal audits with accurate records and reports.
Prevent pilferage, wastage, and ensure accountability of stock.
6. Team Management
Supervise and guide storekeepers, helpers, and loading/unloading staff.
Train staff on material handling, record keeping, and safety norms.
Allocate daily tasks and ensure smooth store operations.
