Job Description

Modern Homes is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Accountant to support our finance and accounting operations. The ideal candidate will assist in managing daily financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with company policies and financial regulations.

1. Financial Record Keeping & Reporting

  • Maintain and update financial records, including invoices, receipts, and ledgers.
  • Assist in preparing financial statements, balance sheets, and profit & loss accounts.
  • Generate reports on cash flow, expenses, and account reconciliations.

2. Accounts Payable & Receivable Management

  • Process vendor invoices, verify transactions, and manage payments.
  • Handle accounts receivable by issuing invoices and tracking payments from customers.
  • Follow up on outstanding payments and reconcile accounts with customers and suppliers.

3. Bank & Cash Transactions

  • Manage daily cash transactions and ensure proper documentation.
  • Assist in bank reconciliation, ensuring that all bank statements match company records.

4. Taxation & Compliance

  • Support the preparation of GST, TDS, and other tax-related filings.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies and statutory requirements.
  • Assist in coordinating with auditors for internal and external audits.

5. Inventory & Cost Management

  • Maintain accurate stock and inventory records in coordination with the warehouse team.
  • Assist in cost analysis and reporting for inventory valuation.

6. Payroll Assistance

  • Support payroll processing by verifying employee records and deductions.
  • Maintain records of salary disbursements and statutory deductions.

7. Software & Data Management

  • Update and maintain financial data in accounting software (Tally/ERP/SAP).
  • Generate financial reports and assist in data analysis for decision-making.

8. Coordination & Support

  • Work closely with the finance team to improve financial efficiency.
  • Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
  • Provide administrative support in document filing and record-keeping

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹8,000.00 - ₹24,232.13 per month

Schedule:

  • Day shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Baripada, Orissa: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
