Staff Engineer, DataOps Engineer

.We are seeking an experienced DataOps Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and operational management of complex data pipelines and analytics platforms. In this role, you will ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of data systems while driving automation and DevOps best practices. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, DevOps, and security to deliver high-quality, production-ready solutions. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, remote-first environment, applies strong technical expertise, and actively contributes to improving data governance, observability, and overall platform performance. Your work will directly impact data availability and integrity, supporting the organization’s strategic initiatives and enabling actionable insights across teams.
Accountabilities
- Manage and support data pipelines, ETL processes, and analytics platforms, ensuring reliability, performance, and accessibility.
- Implement data validation, quality checks, and performance tuning using SQL and Python/Shell scripting.
- Develop and maintain monitoring and observability solutions using tools like Datadog, Grafana, and Prometheus to track system health.
- Integrate data deployments within CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Git) in collaboration with DevOps and Infrastructure teams.
- Apply Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Ansible) to automate provisioning and management of data environments.
- Support incident and request management, including root cause analysis and SLA adherence.
- Collaborate with security and compliance teams to maintain data governance and protection standards.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies to align with cross-functional delivery squads and drive continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 7+ years of professional experience in DataOps, Data Engineering Operations, or Analytics Platform Support.
- Strong expertise in SQL and Python/Shell scripting for automation and data diagnostics.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS mandatory; Azure/GCP is a plus).
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Azure DevOps), version control (Git), and Infrastructure-as-Code frameworks (Terraform, Ansible).
- Understanding of containerization concepts, including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Datadog, Grafana, and Prometheus.
- Solid understanding of data governance, observability, and quality frameworks.
- Experience in incident management and tracking operational metrics (MTTR, uptime, latency).
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across global teams.
