Job Summary:

The Staff BI Developer designs, develops, and maintains advanced Power BI solutions to support data-driven decision-making across the organization. This position requires strong expertise in data modeling, DAX, SQL, and performance optimization, as well as the ability to ensure data integrity and secure access. Collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders to define reporting requirements and mentor junior developers, while ensuring alignment with enterprise data standards.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Designs, develops and manages dashboards and reports within Power BI.
  • Leverages DAX to build advanced KPIs, visual reports, and interactive scorecards tailored to business goals.
  • Architects sustainable and high-performance data models while resolving data integrity and performance issues.
  • Applies SQL and Power Query to cleanse and transform source data, following best practices for Import and Direct Query modes.
  • Translates complex data sets into meaningful insights through clear, actionable visualizations.
  • Implements robust security measures including row-level security and application-level access controls.
  • Creates both tabular and multidimensional data models aligned with data warehouse standards.
  • Publishes, schedules, and maintains Power BI reports in accordance with stakeholder requirements.
  • Maintains and updates data infrastructure across Microsoft Azure and SQL Data Warehouses.
  • Integrates Power BI content into other platforms using embedded analytics and automation via APIs.
  • Designs and implements custom visualizations to enhance reporting interactivity and user experience.
  • Drives project documentation, applying best practices in visualization methodology and lifecycle management.
  • Partners closely with business analysts and stakeholders to define requirements, assess data needs, and deliver scalable solutions.
  • Supports ERP and CRM platforms to ensure seamless data consistency and reporting alignment.

Qualifications:

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical skills used to create informative and visually engaging reports from data.
  • Ability to maintain appropriate levels of confidentiality and demonstrate excellent judgment in decision-making and communications.
  • Proven ability to build scalable data models and optimize performance across large data sets.
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills to work with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a strong commitment to data accuracy and integrity.


Experience:

  • Experience of 7+ years in data preparation, data gateway and data warehousing projects in similar fields.
  • Experience of 7+ years and familiarity with Microsoft Business Intelligence Stack having Power BI, SSAS, SSRS, SSIS.
  • 3 to 4 years of experience working with a self-service tool, preferred with Power BI.
  • Must be experienced in SQL.
  • Must be experienced in data modeling and ETL/ELT with various data sources.
  • Must understand Microsoft Azure products such as Azure Data Lake, Synapse, Data Factory, Data Bricks, and Storage.


Education:

  • BS/MS in Computer Science or Information System is required.
