Job Description

Key Purpose of the Role The SCM Head – Spares will be responsible for building and leading the end-to-end spare parts supply chain across the organization. This includes forecasting, planning, procurement, warehousing, inventory management, pricing governance and logistics. The role aims to ensure spare parts availability, cost efficiency and customer satisfaction by designing a responsive, data driven and audit compliant ecosystem. This position is critical to enabling fast service turnaround, reducing operational leakages, optimizing inventory, and maintaining strong relationships with service partners and external stakeholders. Key Result Areas Oversee and manage end-to-end planning, forecasting, procurement, warehousing, logistics and distribution of spare parts Ensuring high availability and timely delivery of spare parts across all regions Improving inventory efficiency through accurate forecasting and optimal stocking Oversee warehousing and logistics, ensure a responsive, compliant distribution network Drive efficient reverse logistics including return, refurbishment, and scrap processes Leading operational cost control and reducing wastage across the supply chain Strategic Responsibilities Define and lead the spare parts supply chain vision in alignment with organizational service objectives Establish policies for forecasting, sourcing, stocking, warehousing, logistics and pricing of spare parts across product categories Align spare operations with product lifecycle, warranty models, and service SLAs Develop long term sourcing and cost strategies in collaboration with procurement and product teams Drive cross functional integration with service, sales, finance, procurement and product teams Operational Responsibilities Oversee end to end operations for spare ordering, dispatch, warehouse and logistics Drive spare classification (ABC/FSN), minimum stock levels (MSL), and safety stock to ensure zero downtime at field level Control defective spare part returns, refurbishment and scrapping processes Govern inventory levels at regional stores and ISP locations Monitor consumption trends, service demand, and engineer inventory balancing Implement pricing control framework to prevent leakages and manipulation Manage regional warehouses and logistic partners to ensure timely spare dispatch and reverse logistics efficiency Developmental Responsibilities Lead and develop a high performing team across forecasting, logistics, inventory control and warehouse Build strong partnerships with regional managers, engineers, and franchisee networks to ensure process adherence Drive continuous improvement through process innovation and automation Qualification : MBA/PG in Operations/SCM Experience : Min 10 Years Show more Show less
