Purpose/Objective


    Job Title: - Senior Manager - Safety (Projects) Location: - Bhagalpur, Bihar Purpose At Adani, we are committed to nurturing a culture of safety, innovation, and sustainability, reflecting our core values of care, innovation, and excellence. We seek a Senior Manager - Safety (Projects) with extensive experience in the Power/Energy sector to lead and enhance our safety management systems during project execution phases. This role requires a visionary leader who can embed safety practices into every facet of project operations, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations while fostering a proactive safety culture. Key Responsibilities of Role


    Roles and Responsibilities - Develop, implement, and continuously improve comprehensive safety policies, procedures, and protocols aligned with statutory requirements and Adani’s safety culture for all ongoing and upcoming energy projects. - Lead the safety management function across multiple projects, ensuring all activities meet or exceed regulatory compliance, internal standards, and best practices in health, safety, and environment (HSE). - Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and gap analyses to identify potential hazards and implement effective mitigation strategies. - Champion proactive safety awareness campaigns and training programs tailored for project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to embed a safety-first mindset. - Collaborate closely with project managers, engineering teams, contractors, and external agencies to align safety objectives with project goals, timelines, and quality benchmarks. - Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions promptly, leading root cause analysis and driving corrective and preventive actions. - Monitor and report on safety performance metrics, trends, and compliance status to senior leadership and relevant regulatory bodies, providing actionable insights and continuous improvement recommendations. - Ensure the integration of environmental and occupational health considerations into the safety framework of projects. - Oversee contractor safety management, including qualification, induction, monitoring, and evaluation to ensure contractors adhere to Adani’s safety standards. - Foster a collaborative environment that encourages open communication on safety matters, supports employee engagement in safety initiatives, and promotes continuous learning and development. - Represent the company in safety forums, regulatory inspections, and audits, ensuring transparent and effective communication of Adani’s safety commitments. - Drive the adoption of innovative safety technologies and digital tools that enhance monitoring, reporting, and risk management capabilities. - Mentor and develop a high-performing safety team, providing guidance, coaching, and career development opportunities. - Contribute to emergency preparedness and response planning, ensuring teams are well-trained and equipped for incident management. - Align safety strategies with Adani’s broader sustainability and corporate social responsibility goals, reinforcing the company’s commitment to responsible business practices. Technical Skills - In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations and standards relevant to the Power/Energy sector. - Expertise in safety risk assessment methodologies and incident investigation techniques. - Proficiency in safety management software and digital safety tools. - Familiarity with project management processes and interfaces with safety management. - Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction processes for safety implications. - Competence in conducting safety audits, compliance checks, and preparing reports for regulatory bodies. Non-Negotiable Skills - Strong leadership in safety management and ability to drive safety culture transformation. - Expertise in risk assessment and incident investigation within energy projects. - Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills to align safety objectives with business goals.

Technical Competencies


    In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations and standards,Expertise in safety risk assessment methodologies and incident investigation techniques,Proficiency in safety management software and digital safety tools,Competence in conducting safety audits, compliance checks, and preparing reports for regulatory bodies.

Qualifications and Experience


    Experience 12-16 years in Safety Management within Power/Energy industry, preferably with exposure to large-scale project environments and multidisciplinary teams. Education Qualification - Bachelor’s degree in Safety Engineering, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline. - Master’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, or equivalent is preferred.
