Position: Sr. Manager - IT Applications Location: Gurgaon, Haryana Work from Office, Five days a week job Position Purpose The Senior Engineering Manager is a pivotal role that combines technical leadership with operational management to ensure the successful delivery of engineering projects and initiatives. Reporting to the Head - IT, this role oversees multiple engineering teams, drives the development and implementation of innovative technologies, and ensures alignment with organisational objectives. The Senior Engineering Manager is also responsible for fostering collaboration, ensuring operational efficiency, and delivering scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions Roles And Responsibilities Technical Leadership: Define and execute technical strategies in collaboration with respective stakeholders to achieve organisational goals. Oversee the architecture, design, and development of scalable, secure, and high-quality software systems. Drive the adoption of new technologies and methodologies, including AI and enterprise tools, to enhance engineering efficiency. Project Management: Plan, prioritise, and manage the delivery of engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. Implement systems to monitor and track project progress, addressing risks and dependencies proactively. Balance technical debt management with the development of new features and capabilities. Team Development and Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop engineering teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Assess skill gaps within the teams and drive training and development initiatives to meet current and future needs. Organise team-building activities and encourage knowledge sharing across teams and with external vendors. Operational Oversight: Monitor and manage cloud infrastructure spending through FinOps dashboards, implementing corrective actions as needed. Collaborate with observability teams to define intelligent alerting systems for production abnormalities. Periodically test and update disaster recovery (DR) strategies to ensure system resilience and compliance. Collaboration and Communication: Act as a bridge between the engineering teams, product management, and other stakeholders, ensuring seamless collaboration. Provide regular updates on project status, system performance, and operational insights to the Head - IT and senior leadership. Foster partnerships with external vendors to enhance project outcomes and technological advancements. Security and Risk Management: Identify and address security vulnerabilities in systems, implementing fixes for critical and high-priority issues. Proactively manage risks associated with technical strategy and resource allocation, ensuring adaptability to changing demands. What We Are Looking For Candidates with good experience with SDLC 12-15 years of experience in software development, with at least 5+ years in engineering management or a leadership role Expertise in full-stack architecture, cloud platforms (preferably AWS), and modern development frameworks Strong track record of delivering complex engineering projects and managing cross-functional teams. Hands-on experience with .NET, MVC, .NET Core, Web API, SQL Server, and cloud services such as AWS SQS, SNS, and Lambda Mandatory 2+ years of people management experience required.
