Position: Manager / Sr. Manager Business Development (International)
Markets: LATAM & APAC
Products: FTE / FFS / KG based business
Reporting to: EVP-Business Development
Role & responsibilities
- The Manager / Senior Manager Business Development will be responsible for driving global business growth for company through
FTE (Full-Time Equivalent), FFS (Fee-for-Service), and KG-based business models
. The role focuses on building long-term partnerships with global pharmaceutical, biotech, & chemical clients
, leveraging companys strong chemistry R&D and manufacturing capabilities. Key task is to meeting & exceeding sales target & to contributing to the delivery of the companys strategic, year by year growth expectations. The Incumbent main task will be the acquisition of the required FTE / FFS / KG business volume with new customers and the development of a sustainable, growing flow of revenue from the markets - Develop and execute global business development, marketing & sales strategies for FTE / FFS & KG base business for global markets (LATAM & APAC) in alignment with the EVP and the companys goals
- Identify and convert new business opportunities across LATAM, APAC / ROW markets.
- Generate KPI based lists of leads and cold call prospects, set online and live meeting appointments to create a healthy and continuous deal pipeline.
- Together with the pre-sales team, research and identification of new FTE / FFS business opportunities from global markets especially from LATAM & APAC / ROW markets.
- Build and manage a strong sales pipeline through lead generation, client engagement, proposals, and contract negotiations.
- Contact the appropriate contact/s in the organizations identified
- Understand the needs of prospects and customers and respond effectively with a plan on meeting and fulfilling these needs.
- Meet with prospective customers/clients face to face. If required, stay in territory for longer periods for events, customer visits and market prospection.
- Drive key account management, repeat business, and customer retention.
- Meet and exceed annual revenue, margin, and strategic growth targets.
- Suggest and attend relevant seminars, conferences and events.
- Team up with the companys scientists on a need-to basis to create commercial proposals, attend pitch meetings, negotiate and close deals
- Accurately manage the companys CRM data, deliver regular reports, sales forecasts and analyses in accordance with Taros reporting system.
- Track market intelligence, competitor activities, and emerging chemistry opportunities.
- Represent company at international conferences, exhibitions, and client meetings.
- Act as a key interface between global clients and internal teams (R&D, Process Chemistry, Scale-up, QA, Regulatory, Manufacturing).
- Support client audits, technical discussions, due diligence, and site visits
Preferred candidate profile
- M.Sc (Organic Chemistry) / Ph.D / M.Pharm / MBA (Marketing or International Business preferred) with 6 to 12 years experience in global business development with CRO / CDMO.
- Prior experience in custom synthesis, CRO/CDMO, pharma or specialty chemicals is essential
- Proven track record in the demanding and fast paced research driven CRO business environment.
- Proven capabilities to meeting/exceeding sales targets and to contributing to the delivery of the companys strategic, year by year growth expectations.
- Previous personal experience dealing with decision makers in the bespoke markets is a clear advantage.
- Front-end sales orientation and confidence in initiating business discussions
- Knowledge of Chemistry CRO / Drug Discovery / Medicinal Chemistry would be added advantage.
- Strong understanding of custom synthesis, CRAMS, and CDMO business models.
- Experience with CRM systems and digital research tools like LinkedIn, Sales Navigator.
- Solid work experience in B2B pre-sales work with excellent English language skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage data accurately, and handle KPIs
- Experience with global contracts (MSA, NDA, supply agreements).
- Ability to convert complex chemistry capabilities into customer-centric solutions.
- Excellent commercial negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Should be ready to travel globally in assigned sales territory for longer period if required.
