We have been mandated by a large conglomerate for the below mentioned role. Position Name : AGM /DGM-IR Qualification :MBA/MSW Experience : 15+ Place of Posting : Maharastra Job Purpose The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the industrial relations strategy and operations across multiple business units within the organization. This role will involve managing labour relations, ensuring compliance with labour laws, facilitating negotiations, and fostering a positive relationship between management and employees. The position will act as a bridge between the company and labour unions, ensuring smooth communication, minimizing disputes, and maintaining legal and regulatory compliance in all industrial relations matters. 1. Industrial Relations Management Lead and maintain proactive industrial relations to ensure a harmonious work environment across the plant. Manage relationships with multiple trade unions and represent the management in all IR matters. Facilitate and lead negotiations for long-term wage settlements, productivity-linked incentive schemes, and union agreements. Ensure implementation of agreed terms and monitor compliance across the workforce. 2. Labour Law Compliance & Audits Ensure 100% compliance with applicable labour laws (ID Act, Factories Act, CLRA, etc.). Maintain accurate records and prepare statutory returns and reports. Handle inspections and audits by labour departments and statutory bodies. 3. Grievance Redressal & Disciplinary Process Set up a strong mechanism for grievance handling and employee feedback. Conduct domestic inquiries, issue show-cause notices, charge sheets, and manage disciplinary actions as per company policy and legal framework. Lead preventive and corrective actions for employee misconduct or industrial unrest. 4. Contract Labour & Vendor Management Oversee the management of contract labour including contractors compliance with wages, working hours, PF, ESI, and other statutory norms. Ensure adherence to Contract Labour (Regulation & Abolition) Act provisions and ethical labour practices. 5. Liaison & Legal Coordination Liaise with government bodies, labour departments, and legal counsel for smooth operations. Represent the company in labour court, industrial tribunals, and conciliations. Assist legal team with preparation of documentation, case follow-ups, and compliance actions. 6. Employee Engagement & IR Strategy Drive blue-collar employee engagement initiatives and welfare programs. Identify and mitigate IR risks through proactive engagement and communication. Develop and implement IR policies, standing orders, and codes of discipline.
