Job Description

LafargeHolcim Bangladesh PLC. (LHB) is a frontline building material company in Bangladesh, operating for more than two decades. It has one fully integrated cement plant and three grinding plants and it is a joint venture of Holcim and Molins. To support our new mill operation we are looking for competent persons for below position:


Key Role:

  • Strictly follow the plant safety rules and regulations, Job risk assessment with GWP, JPT & LST.
  • Troubleshooting, repairing and maintenance of Belt Conveyor, Stacker, Reclaimer, weigh Feeders, Vertical Roller Mill, Ball Mill, Separator, Hydraulic system, Apron Feeder, Bucket Elevator, Crusher, Lubrication system, Air slide, Pumps, Compressors etc.
  • Day to day maintenance & preventive maintenance of all Mechanical equipment in the plant.
  • Provide technical support to the subordinates, coordinate with Supervisors and other departments to identify, define and solve problems.
  • Assist in spare planning & budget preparation, idea generation and participate in improvement projects.
  • Work under pressure and ready to be work for extended hours.


Main Responsibilities

  • Challenge of working with people who has a very little awareness on safety due to lack of heavy industrial culture.
  • Challenge of working in a place where there is a little scope to meet the emergency for spares, service etc. due to location.
  • Challenge of working along with junior colleagues who require lot more exposure.


Management:

  • Responsible for Adherence to safety policy, rules and PPE in the field level.
  • Responsible for co-ordination and/or performing all plant mechanical maintenance activity in his responsibility area.
  • In – depth knowledge of maintenance of all process equipment used in cement industry, maintenance management methods, predictive inspection tools and computer based maintenance management systems Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the relevant equipment.
  • Experience of root cause analysis and maintenance budget preparation.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance needs.
  • Ensure the quality of maintenance job.
  • To monitor the condition of machinery, taking preventive action to avoid stoppages/break downs.
  • Monitor job duration, cost and performance of crew.
  • Recommends improvements for reliability increase and cost reduction
  • Monitor and controls overtime.
  • Responsible for scheduled inspection of tools and tackles (including safety tools and tackles) and ensuring that these are in optimal condition of safe use.
  • Responsible for recording of daily job activities.
  • Work with the planning in the development of job planning to make it more effective.
  • Ensure proper upkeep of departmental manuals, documents, log sheets etc.
  • Ensure proper use of P.P.E by subordinates & self & abide by safety procedures.
  • Responsible for training & guiding subordinates.
  • Apart from computerized maintenance schedules observes day to condition of machinery by feel and touch methods also.
  • Responsible for giving feedback to Preventive Maintenance Department.
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe and healthy work environment, considering the environmental implications of the work.


Requirements:

  • B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from any reputed University
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the relevant field.
  • Strong technical knowledge on mechanical maintenance
  • Strong knowledge and experience on hydraulic system, Gearbox Maintenance, Conveyor belt jointing, equipment alignment, Lubrication System etc.
  • Knowledge on vibration analysis, industrial equipment testing techniques (NDT, MPT, UT, DP etc.)
  • Safety rules and regulations
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ownership of personal safety & safety of subordinates, team Leading, ability to work under pressure
  • Experience on Coal Mill maintenance and knowledge on SAP/CMMS will be an added advantage
