Job Summary

Zabbix Administrator L2

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the Zabbix monitoring environment to ensure high availability and performance.
• Configure, deploy, and optimize Zabbix templates, hosts, triggers, and actions.
• Develop custom monitoring scripts and templates for various infrastructure components (servers, network devices, applications, databases).
• Perform L2 support for Zabbix-related incidents and service requests.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Zabbix agents, proxies, and server.
• Monitor and analyze system performance, generate alerts, and report on monitoring trends.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, network, security, and application teams to gather monitoring requirements and implement monitoring solutions.
• Conduct upgrades, patches, and routine maintenance of the Zabbix system.
• Document configurations, procedures, and incident resolutions.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning and execution for monitoring systems.
• Provide training and support to junior monitoring staff or other teams as needed.
  

Required Skills And Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience with Zabbix administration (version 4.x or later preferred).
• Strong understanding of monitoring concepts, network protocols (SNMP, ICMP, TCP), and IT infrastructure components.
• Experience writing custom scripts in Bash, Python, or other scripting languages to extend Zabbix functionality.
• Proficient in Linux/Unix system administration (CentOS, Ubuntu, RHEL).
• Knowledge of databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL for Zabbix backend.
• Experience with server, network, and application monitoring.
• Ability to analyze logs and troubleshoot complex issues.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
