Job Description

SQL Lead - COE

Location: Pune

Experience: 6-10 Years

We are looking to hire a Data Engineer with strong hands-on experience in SQL and PL/SQL.

Required Skills & Abilities :
  • 6+ Years experience in any Databases (MS-SQL /Oracle /Teradata/Netezza).
  • 4+ Years of experience to manage team and client calls.
  • Strong expertise in writing complex SQL queries, joins, subqueries, and analytical functions.
  • Hands-on experience with stored procedures, functions, triggers, packages, and cursors.
  • Understanding of database design principles, normalization, and partitioning
  • Knowledge of ETL processes, data migration, and data transformation.
  • Experience working with Oracle SQL Developer or other database tools.
  • Ability to analyze requirements and translate them into efficient database solutions
  • Familiarity with UNIX/Linux shell scripting for automation (preferred).
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, optimize, and maintain PL/SQL stored procedures, functions, triggers, and packages.
  • Write complex SQL queries, views, and indexes for data manipulation and reporting.
  • Optimize SQL queries and database performance using indexing, partitioning, and query tuning techniques.
  • Ensure data integrity and security by implementing constraints, validations, and best practices.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and design efficient database solutions.
  • Troubleshoot database issues, debug PL/SQL code, and improve query performance.
  • Implement ETL processes using SQL and PL/SQL.
  • Perform database schema design, normalization, and optimization.
  • Collaborate with DBA teams for database backup, recovery, and maintenance.
  • Develop and maintain database documentation, coding standards, and best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud databases (GCP or any other cloud is a plus) is a plus.
  • Exposure to big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark (optional)
