Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Solar Design Engineer located in Nashik. The Solar Design Engineer will be responsible for developing PV designs, conducting electrical designs, working with various solar systems, and contributing to solar power projects. The role will involve day-to-day tasks such as system design, project coordination, technical assessments, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

What you’ll do

• Own electrical design for rooftop/ground-mount solar plants (C&I): cable sizing, protection & coordination, switchgear, earthing, LA, AC/DC distribution.
• Develop SLDs, GA layouts, and schematics; review shop drawings and as-builts.
• Component selection & BoM (wires/cables, MCCB, MCB, SPD, fuses, CTs, transformers, inverters, protection relays).
• Integration & compliance: align designs with IEC/IS/MNRE/DISCOM norms; prepare submission packs.
• Performance modelling & yield checks; support stringing plans, losses, and PR estimates.
• Cross-functional collaboration with project execution, procurement, and QA to deliver on time with quality.
• Site support: resolve design queries, troubleshoot issues, and validate as-built quality.
• Documentation: calculations, design notes, test plans, and client technical reports.

Trajectory: This role is groomed toward Head of Electrical (HOD) based on performance, leadership, and delivery.

What you’ll bring (Must-haves)

• B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
• 3–5 years in electrical design (solar preferred) or power systems/protection.
• Strong command of SLDs, protection & coordination, cable sizing, and earthing/LA design.
• Hands-on with AutoCAD and electrical calculation methods.
• Clear communicator; comfortable working with sites, vendors, and clients.

Great to have (Plus points)

• Exposure to PVsyst / HelioScope / Arka, SketchUp (basic 3D for layouts), ETAP/Ecodial/DigSILENT (protection studies).
• Familiarity with DISCOM approvals, MNRE standards, IEC/IS codes, and safety compliance.
• Experience on C&I rooftop projects (string sizing, inverter matching, shading analysis).
• Cost/BoM optimization mindset and a knack for neat documentation.
