Site Engineer – Depot Plant & Machineries
supports the on-site execution, installation, and operational readiness of depot equipment and machinery. The role involves close coordination with contractors, suppliers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely delivery and compliance with technical specifications, safety standards, and project requirements. Based primarily at the project site, you will interface daily with construction teams, equipment vendors, and project managers to ensure seamless integration of depot systems.
Job Duties:
- Installation and Commissioning
- Supervise the installation and commissioning of depot plant and machinery, including heavy equipment, maintenance tools, and automated systems.
- Ensure adherence to technical specifications, safety protocols, and project timelines during installation.
- Technical Coordination
- Collaborate with contractors, suppliers, and multidisciplinary teams to resolve technical issues related to depot machinery.
- Review shop drawings, equipment manuals, and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Quality Assurance
- Conduct inspections and quality checks for depot machinery and plant installations.
- Ensure all equipment meets industry standards, client specifications, and safety regulations.
- Maintenance Planning
- Assist in developing preventive maintenance schedules and operational protocols for depot machinery.
- Provide technical support for troubleshooting and resolving equipment malfunctions.
- Safety and Compliance
- Enforce safety procedures and ensure compliance with local regulations and international standards during installation and operation.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation measures for depot machinery operations.
- Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain detailed records of installation progress, inspections, and commissioning activities.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports for project managers and stakeholders.
- Stakeholder Coordination
- Act as the on-site liaison between contractors, vendors, and project management teams.
- Facilitate communication to ensure smooth execution and timely resolution of issues.
- Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to lessons-learned sessions and recommend improvements for future depot projects.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in depot machinery and plant systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering).
Additional Information
- 6+ years of total professional experience, with a focus on plant and machinery systems.
- 2+ years of relevant experience in metro rail depot projects or similar infrastructure projects.
