Job Profile: D2C E-commerce Manager (Shopify)

1. Job Summary

We are seeking a highly resourceful and results-driven D2C E-commerce Manager to own and grow our Shopify online store. This individual will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the website, focusing on optimizing the customer journey, improving conversion rates, and skillfully managing the Shopify app ecosystem to achieve our sales targets.

With 3-5 years of hands-on e-commerce experience, the ideal candidate is a Shopify power-user who excels at finding creative, app-based solutions to drive growth and overcome the limitations of a standard plan.

2. Key Responsibilities

Sales & Performance Management

  • Drive and be accountable for the D2C channel's sales targets.
  • Live in Shopify Analytics and Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to monitor traffic, conversion funnels, and customer behavior.
  • Track and report on key KPIs (Conversion Rate, AOV, Cart Abandonment, Site Speed) to leadership, providing clear insights and recommendations.
  • Actively manage and execute A/B tests on the site (using third-party apps like Shopify's 'Search & Discovery' app, VWO, or Hotjar) to optimize for conversion.

Website & UX Management (Shopify Specific)

  • Manage the end-to-end setup for all new products, collections, and discount codes within Shopify.
  • Strategically merchandise collections and the homepage using the Shopify theme customizer to align with marketing campaigns and product launches.
  • Ensure the Shopify theme is fast, mobile-first, and provides a seamless user experience. Log and manage any bugs with developers.

Technical & Operational Oversight (Shopify Specific)

  • Crucially, research, vet, install, and manage the budget for a stack of third-party Shopify apps (e.g., email, reviews, loyalty, shipping, subscriptions, landing page builders).
  • Ensure all critical integrations (e.g., Klaviyo/Omnisend, 3PL/ERP, payment gateways) are functioning correctly.
  • Work with developers or use your own skills to make minor theme customizations using Liquid, HTML, and CSS. (Note: Checkout customization is not possible on this plan).
  • Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for all new site features, app rollouts, or theme changes.

Marketing & Customer Acquisition Support

  • Build and optimize landing pages, likely using a third-party app (like PageFly, Shogun, or GemPages), for paid media, email, and social media campaigns.
  • Implement on-page and technical SEO best practices within Shopify (e.g., meta descriptions, alt-text, URL structure, schema).
  • Manage on-site email capture pop-ups and forms (via your email app), ensuring they are optimized.

3. Required Skills & Qualifications

Experience

  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in D2C e-commerce management.
  • Deep, hands-on expertise with the standard Shopify platform is mandatory. You must know its limitations and how to work around them with apps.
  • Proven track record of managing and growing an e-commerce P&L and achieving sales targets.
  • (Preferred) Experience in the apparel, baby, or lifestyle product industry.

Skills (Technical)

  • Expert-level proficiency in Shopify Analytics and Google Analytics 4 (GA4).
  • Strong understanding of Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) principles and A/B testing methodologies.
  • Expertise in building a high-performing "app stack" on a budget.
  • Solid knowledge of SEO best practices as they apply to the Shopify platform.
  • Working knowledge of Shopify's Liquid, HTML, and CSS for minor theme customization.
  • Experience managing integrations with key partners (e.g., Klaviyo, 3PLs, payment gateways).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Bhestan, Surat, Gujarat: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
