Job Description

Objectives of Position

·       Monitor order, space allocation & vessel to ensure shipment can be shipped and delivered in timely manner

·       Maintain partnership and liaise all logistics related issues with concerned team and management, buyers, forwarders, suppliers and factories in India & China.

·       Internal contact point of all logistics matters

·       External contact point of appointed forwarders in India & overseas, suppliers and factories

·       Coach & share know-how transfer to the sourcing & merchandising team

.      Track and make sure to prepare and submit accurate documents with customers timely

.      Have an experience of handling handicrafts and hardgoods would be a plus.


Tasks & Competencies

·       Liaison function for all logistics related issues between the relevant department in our head office, suppliers/factories on the Indian subcontinent

·       Managing forwarder’s and courier partner’s performance

·       Educating new suppliers on logistics processes and guiding them on supplier net system. .

·       Shipment tracking and ensuring on-time delivery

·       Order information management at internal logistics system

·       Coordination with internal & external department and proactive handling

 

Analyzes / Reporting

Monitor all logistics issues & report to team and customers timely.

Verify and submit all the required post shipment documents with customers on time.

Take all the required written approvals on costing timely from concerned customer / team.

 

Administration

Monitor shipment and courier status

 

Target:

·       Coordination for ocean & air shipment

·       Monitor FCL/LCL/Air Cargo/ Courier shipments (process, capacity, movement & costing)

·       Handle all logistics issue in per-carriage process such as placing booking, documentation & certificate handling, space allocation, on-time delivery

·       Communicate with internal department, supplier/factories/buyers & forwarder to ensure all process is under standard SOP

·       Regular updates on India market, vessel & port status to internal parties

·       Liaise with suppliers and vendors to ensure smooth operations.

·       Identify and implement process improvements to enhance logistics efficiency.

·       Use data analysis to monitor performance and identify areas for improvement.

·       Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Requirements

·       Degree holder or above in Supply Chain Management, Transport and Logistics Management

·       Experience in sourcing industry in handicrafts and hardgoods is an advantage. 

·       Min 3 years of relevant logistics experience in export house or a buying agency.

·       Good knowledge of trade declaration, air, ocean, shipping procedure, customs

·       Fluent in spoken and written English

·       Hard working and able to handle pressure

·       Good interpersonal and problem solving skills

·       Open and polite communicator with internal and external customers and partners

·       A good team player, able to work independently, self-motivated, proactive and willing to learn more

·       Proficient in Microsoft office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook Etc.)
