Job Description

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Field Service Engineer to join our team at our air compressor dealership. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and servicing of air compressors at customer sites. This role requires technical expertise, excellent customer service skills, and a proactive attitude to ensure the smooth operation of our customers' air compressor systems. Key Responsibilities: Installation & Commissioning: Perform the installation and commissioning of air compressors and related equipment at customer sites, ensuring compliance with manufacturer guidelines and customer requirements. Maintenance & Repair: Conduct scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs on various types of air compressors, including rotary screw, reciprocating, and centrifugal models. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and software issues with air compressors and related systems. Customer Support: Provide on-site technical support and guidance to customers, ensuring they understand equipment functionality, maintenance schedules, and operational best practices. Documentation: Maintain accurate service records, including work performed, parts used, and recommendations for future service or upgrades. Parts Management: Assist in the identification and ordering of spare parts and consumables required for repairs and maintenance. Training: Train customers and internal staff on the operation, maintenance, and safety of air compressor systems. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations while working on customer sites. Reporting: Provide regular reports on service activities, customer feedback, and any opportunities for new services or products. Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with new technologies and service techniques related to air compressors and actively contribute to service process improvements. Qualifications & Skills: Education: A technical diploma or degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field. Additional certifications in air compressor technology are a plus. Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in servicing air compressors or similar industrial equipment. Experience in a customer-facing role is advantageous. Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of air compressor systems (mechanical, electrical, and control systems), troubleshooting, and diagnostic tools. Customer Service: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with customers. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work independently and resolve issues efficiently. Driving License: A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to customer sites regularly. Working Conditions: Full-time position with flexible working hours. Travel required to customer sites, sometimes requiring overnight stays. Safety equipment and training provided.
