Technical Writer

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain high-quality documentation including user manuals, installation guides, API documentation, system operation guides, FAQs, and release notes.
• Work closely with software developers, QA engineers, product managers, and subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather information and understand technical concepts.
• Create documentation that meets organizational standards and is appropriate for its intended audience.
• Organize and manage documentation in a centralized repository (e.g., Confluence, SharePoint, Git).
• Maintain version control and track changes in documentation throughout the product lifecycle.
• Edit, standardize, or make changes to material prepared by other writers or technical staff.
• Use authoring tools such as Adobe FrameMaker, MadCap Flare, or equivalent for structured documentation.
• Collaborate with UX/UI teams to improve help systems and integrate contextual help in applications.
• Review and update existing documentation to ensure accuracy and consistency.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 6–9 years of experience as a Technical Writer in a software product or IT services company.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Proficient in using documentation tools like Adobe FrameMaker, RoboHelp, MadCap Flare, MS Word, Markdown, or DITA-based tools.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN).
• Basic understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and RESTful APIs.
• Experience working with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or similar.
• Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with single-sourcing and content reuse strategies.
• Familiarity with HTML, CSS, or Markdown.
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum processes.
