Role Overview

Senior Software Technologist (Database & Analyst)

You will play a critical role in ensuring data integrity, optimizing performance, and supporting the development team with advanced SQL and PostgreSQL-based solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain optimized
PostgreSQL
databases for enterprise applications
Write and manage complex
SQL queries
,
stored procedures
,
functions
, and
triggers
Perform
performance tuning
, query optimization, and indexing
Develop and maintain
ETL pipelines
for efficient data transformation and loading
Ensure
data integrity
, security, and robust
backup and recovery strategies
Work closely with developers for seamless integration between applications and the database
Monitor
database health
and proactively troubleshoot performance or reliability issues
Implement and manage
database partitioning
,
replication
, and
sharding
for scaling large datasets
Use
PL/pgSQL scripting
to develop and embed business logic within the database
Collaborate with
DevOps teams
on deployment, migration, and automation tasks
Maintain and regularly update comprehensive technical documentation

Required Skills & Experience

4+ years of hands-on experience with
PostgreSQL
database design, development, and tuning
Proficiency in writing complex
SQL
and
PL/pgSQL
code
Strong knowledge of
ETL design
, performance tuning, and database optimization techniques
Experience with database
security
,
backup
, and
disaster recovery
planning
Exposure to
high-volume datasets
, replication, and partitioning strategies
Good collaboration and communication skills, especially when working with developers and DevOps teams
Familiarity with
Linux-based environments
and command-line tools

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

Experience in
DevOps/database automation
tools and workflows
Knowledge of
cloud-hosted PostgreSQL
solutions (AWS RDS, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, etc.)
Familiarity with
containerization (Docker)
and
CI/CD
practices
Understanding of
data warehousing
or
analytics pipelines
is a plus
