Job Highlight

The Senior Program Communications Associate will work closely with the Urban Development team. This role entails developing strategic communication products to convey the impact of work across cities on urban water and climate resilience. The ideal candidate should have experience in creating engaging social media content and must have design and video editing skills along with excellent skills in English writing, editing, and proofreading.


What you will do:

Digital Media Content Creation (30%)

• Develop creative communication products for different formats (like short video snippets, graphics, reels) for different channels – WhatsApp, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube.

• Repurpose existing research products (like research reports, decks, blogs) into simple communications products for strategic social media messaging.

• Develop and execute a communication strategy for the project with tailored messaging for specific target audiences.

• Create new content (like a short video explainer) to highlight milestones and outcomes.

• Build capacity of project team in improving social media presence and support development of new digital platforms (like websites, dashboards, etc.).


Other Content Creation (40%)

• Provide on-ground support to convenings, workshops, and other engagement efforts and document proceedings for digital outreach.

• Support project team in writing blogs, research papers, news articles, etc.

• Record podcasts, webinars, reels as needed and ensure wide dissemination and engagement on relevant platforms.

• Develop content for press releases, media pitches, and facilitate the writing of op-eds for external publications.


Event Outreach and Support (30%)

• Prepare presentation decks/brochures/flyers and other material as needed to communicate project work impactfully.

• Support teams in developing reading materials (concept notes, agendas, etc.) for convenings/workshops.

• Facilitate internal coordination and lend end-to-end communication support during on-ground convenings.

• Create strategic communication plans for key events (local, national, and global) and implement robust processes for seamless logistics.


What you will need:

• 4-7 years of full-time experience working as a communication coordinator.

• Experience dealing with a wide variety of stakeholders and vendors.

• Basic understanding of urban water and climate resilience is required.

• Excellent writing and editing skills in English and familiarity with Marathi is preferred.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to build and maintain productive relationships internally and externally.

• Capability to communicate complex ideas in simple language.

• Ability to meet stringent deadlines and manage multiple project deadlines.

• Enthusiasm, flexibility, technical curiosity, and willingness to learn.

• Understanding how events are organized and basic troubleshooting.

• Proficiency in design software (Photoshop, InDesign, Canva, or other AV/ animation software) is preferred.
