Senior Network Security Engineer

Client is seeking a skilled Network Security Engineer to join our network/security team in the APAC region. As part of our ongoing transformation following the company split, you will play a key role in ensuring the security and resilience of our network infrastructure. Your primary responsibility will be to monitor, respond to, and manage all network security incidents occurring within the APAC time zone, ensuring timely and effective resolution. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in network security, a solid understanding of the unique challenges faced in the APAC region, and the ability to collaborate with both local and global teams. You will also contribute to the continuous improvement of our security posture by analyzing incident trends and recommending enhancements to our processes and technologies.

Goals and deliverables

• Take ownership of monitoring, managing, and resolving all network security incidents within the APAC time zone, ensuring rapid and effective response.
• Collaborate with regional industrial site stakeholders and external vendors to coordinate incident response, remediation activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide expert guidance on incident handling, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews to strengthen our security posture.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of incident response processes, documentation, and knowledge sharing within the team.
• Report directly to the regional security manager, maintaining clear documentation and presenting your actions and recommendations as part of the established project framework.

Education and experience:

• Minimum 5 years of experience within the network security field
• Strong contribution to projects involving firewall migrations, service tower creations and transitions (build to run)
• Strong technical experience in the LAN/WIFI Cisco solutions at a large scale level. It’s also recommended to have a good level of knowledge of the Palo Alto firewall environment (Palo Alto, Panorama) and Zscaler / SDWAN Cisco Catalyst will be valuable.
• Capacity to troubleshoot network issues involving firewalls within an industrial network
• Knowledge of EDR solutions is a plus
• Experience within industrial network field (OT/ICS networks)
• Experience with IT/OT convergence and securing industrial control systems (ICS) and SCADA environments is a plus
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex security challenges.
• Outstanding communication and project coordination abilities, capable of leading projects involving multiple stakeholders
