Senior Merchandiser

A Senior Garment Merchandiser job description includes overseeing the entire garment order lifecycle, from initial sample development and sourcing to bulk production and shipment, while managing client and factory relationships. Key responsibilities involve internal and external coordination, costing, price negotiation, quality control, and ensuring timely delivery and communication between the buyer and the production plant. Core Responsibilities

• Order management: Manage the complete order process, including final costing, price negotiation, and handling all aspects from product sampling to bulk production and shipment.
• Client and vendor liaison: Act as the primary point of contact, managing relationships with international buyers and coordinating with suppliers and the production plant.
• Production coordination: Advise production teams, follow up on production, and ensure all orders are processed correctly and on time.
• Quality control: Oversee quality control processes, from initial submissions to final inspections, to ensure the final product meets buyer requirements.
• Logistics and shipping: Coordinate with shipping lines, book space, and ensure timely and smooth shipment of goods to the buyer.
• Costing and pricing: Perform detailed costing and price quotations for buyers.
• Reporting: Keep management informed with regular updates and report to the head of the department on performance and any issues.
• Problem-solving: Address and resolve issues that may arise during the production and delivery process, making decisions and seeking high-level approval when needed.

Required skills and qualifications

• Strong knowledge of the garment production process, including woven or knit garments.
• Experience in sourcing materials, trims, and fabrics.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
• Experience managing client accounts and a proven track record in sales and product development.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
• Ideally, a tertiary education in Apparel, Textile, Design, or a related field.

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹55,000.00 per month
