Senior Geologist

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Geologist to join our mining operations team. The ideal candidate must have 4–7 years of hands-on experience in geological exploration, mine planning, and mineral resource evaluation. The Senior Geologist will play a key role in identifying mineral deposits, conducting geological surveys, and supporting efficient and sustainable mining operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct detailed geological mapping, sampling, and drilling programs for exploration and mining projects.
• Analyze geological data to evaluate mineral deposits, ore reserves, and mining feasibility.
• Prepare geological models, cross-sections, and reports using specialized software (e.g., Surpac, Datamine, Minex).
• Monitor drilling, blasting, and excavation activities to ensure proper ore extraction and minimize dilution.
• Collaborate with mining engineers, surveyors, and environmental teams for mine planning and development.
• Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines.
• Supervise junior geologists, drill operators, and field assistants, providing training and technical support.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on exploration and production geology.
• Support management in resource estimation and contribute to long-term mine planning.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Geology/Applied Geology/Earth Sciences.
• Minimum 4–7 years of relevant experience in the mining industry (preferably in iron ore, coal, or other mineral sectors).
• Strong knowledge of exploration techniques, ore body modeling, and geostatistics.
• Proficiency in geological and mine planning software (e.g., Surpac, Datamine, ArcGIS, AutoCAD).
• Ability to interpret geological, geochemical, and geophysical data.
• Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work on-site in mining areas with extensive fieldwork.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of Indian Bureau of Mines (IBM) and DGMS guidelines.
• Experience in iron ore/mineral exploration projects.
• Excellent report writing and communication skills.
