Senior Electrical Engineer

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with strong expertise in the design of high voltage power transmission systems as well as in erection and commissioning of XLPE cables and Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) systems. The candidate will play a key role in leading engineering design, execution, and commissioning activities for major power projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, planning, and review of high voltage (HV/EHV) power transmission systems, including substations, GIS, and cable systems.
• Prepare and evaluate technical specifications, design documents, single-line diagrams, cable sizing, and system studies.
• Supervise erection, installation, testing, and commissioning of XLPE cables (132kV and above) and GIS systems.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure adherence to technical standards, project timelines, and quality requirements.
• Ensure compliance with national and international standards (IEC, IEEE, IS, etc.) in design and execution.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and site teams.
• Perform root cause analysis and troubleshoot technical issues during commissioning and operation stages.
• Prepare detailed reports, documentation, and presentations for project stakeholders.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in the design, erection, and commissioning of high voltage transmission systems.
• Proven expertise in XLPE cable systems (132kV and above) and GIS technology.
• Strong knowledge of protection schemes, power system studies, and grounding design.
• Proficiency in design and analysis software (ETAP, DigSILENT, AutoCAD, etc.).
• Strong project management, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple large-scale projects.

Preferred Background:

• Experience with utility projects, EPC companies, or OEMs in the power sector.
• Hands-on involvement in commissioning of EHV substations and cable networks.
• Familiarity with renewable energy integration into transmission systems (preferred but not mandatory).
