Senior Electrical Engineer

Key Responsibilities

1. Electrical System Design

• Prepare electrical load calculations, voltage drop calculations, cable sizing, short-circuit analysis, and equipment sizing.
• Design layouts for LV power distribution, lighting systems, earthing, lightning protection, and ELV systems.
• Develop SLDs, schematics, and equipment schedules adhering to project requirements and standards.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant codes such as

  NBC, IEC, IS standards

  , and DISCOM guidelines.

2. CAD / BIM Drafting

• Prepare detailed

  AutoCAD drawings

  : electrical layouts, SLDs, panel room layouts, cable routing, lighting layouts, and containment systems.
• Coordinate with

  Revit/BIM teams

  (if applicable) for model integration & clash resolve.
• Maintain drawing quality, accuracy, layer management, plotting standards, and revision control.

3. Coordination & Documentation

• Collaborate with mechanical, plumbing, fire, and architecture teams for interdisciplinary coordination.
• Attend internal design reviews and client/consultant meetings as required.
• Prepare BOQs, technical specifications, design reports, and compliance statements.
• Support tender documentation and shop drawing reviews.

4. Site & Client Support

• Provide design clarifications to site execution teams.
• Review contractor/shop drawings and ensure alignment with design intent.
• Participate in site inspections and snag validation when required.

Required Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of LV electrical systems for high-rise residential and commercial buildings.
• Proficiency in

  AutoCAD

  (mandatory);
• Familiarity with electrical calculation tools (ETAP / Excel-based tools).
• Understanding of utility approvals (DISCOM), DG sizing, transformer selection, and panel board configuration.

Soft Skills

• Good communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet timelines.
• Strong coordination and problem-solving abilities.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Qualification

• Diploma / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering

  .
• 3–5 years of proven experience in

  MEP consulting / MEP contracting

  (consulting experience preferred).

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Experience in

  residential apartment projects

  , commercial buildings, or mixed-use developments.
• Exposure to working with architects, PMC, and developer clients.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
