Job Title: Senior Mechanical/Piping Designer Location: Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, India Experience Level: Minimum 5 years Job Summary: The Senior Mechanical/Piping Designer will be responsible for preparing detailed mechanical and piping engineering drawings, layouts, and schematics for various projects. This role requires a strong understanding of industry standards, excellent AutoCAD proficiency, and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Key Responsibilities: Generate accurate and comprehensive 2D and 3D mechanical and piping GA (General Arrangement) drawings, detailed fabrication drawings, isometric drawings, and P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams) based on engineering designs and specifications. Develop equipment layouts, piping layouts, and support detail drawings. Ensure all drawings comply with relevant international and national codes, standards, and project specifications. Collaborate closely with engineers and other discipline draughtsmen to integrate designs and resolve drawing discrepancies. Review and verify drawings for accuracy, completeness, and constructability. Incorporate redline markups and design changes efficiently and accurately. Maintain and update drawing registers and ensure proper document control. Assist in the preparation of material take-offs (MTOs) from drawings. Participate in design reviews and provide valuable input from a draughting perspective. Mentor junior draughtsmen (if applicable). Adhere to project schedules and deliver high-quality deliverables within deadlines. Required Skills & Qualifications: Diploma or ITI in Mechanical Engineering, Draughtsmanship, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of demonstrable experience as a Mechanical/Piping Draughtsman, specifically with a focus on piping and mechanical GA drawings. Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (2D & 3D). In-depth knowledge of piping design principles, standards (e.g., ASME, ASTM), and various piping components. Familiarity with mechanical equipment drafting. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and vendor data. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Problem-solving attitude and ability to adapt to changing project requirements. Added Advantage: Knowledge and hands-on experience with Autodesk Revit and/or AutoCAD Plant 3D . Experience with other relevant drafting software or engineering tools.
