McDonald’s has set an ambition to become a Global Indirect Sourcing and Procurement leader. To make this happen, we are standing up a new Global Indirect Sourcing and Procurement Organization (IS&P). This organization will help McDonald’s to better leverage our scale and unlock sustainable value for our company and communities. We are transforming our Indirect Sourcing and Procurement capabilities, processes, solutions, and ways of working to create One McDonald’s Way of buying Indirect goods and services responsibly. This role presents an exceptional career opportunity to be a part of this journey as the Sr. Director, Generalist Sourcing Lead. This role is a critical leadership position and will own a large book of work across sourcing for indirect categories (IT and Non-IT) and across analyst team capabilities, ultimately supporting McDonald’s in its journey to becoming a Global Indirect Sourcing and Procurement leader. Reporting to the VP of IS&P, the role is responsible for overseeing a large pool of general sourcing practitioners and junior analysts, focused on career development and growth to elevate best-in-class status. This role is ultimately accountable for ensuring resources meet the required competencies for IS&P capabilities and employing leading practices on a fit-for-purpose basis. It is expected that this role works closely with IS&P leaders leads to align the team with their strategic priorities, allocate capacity based on need, and enable the resources to experience different capabilities across IS&P based on interests, skill gaps, and business needs. Key Responsibilities: General Sourcing Team Strategy & Development: Provide strategic leadership and mentorship to a sourcing team by establishing clear, measurable goals aligned with organizational objectives and Category Strategies. Manage resource allocation, optimize team performance, and implement best-in-class sourcing strategies to deliver cost savings, risk mitigation, and supplier innovation. Drive individual and team development through targeted training, coaching, and performance feedback. IS&P Analyst Team Strategy & Development: In collaboration with functional leadership, set the strategy and planning for the new Analyst team. Weigh in on the structure and career pathing planned for the team, improving where appropriate to enable the optimal junior talent experience and skill development. Category Leadership Support: Lead the development and execution of strategic category plans, identifying opportunities for cost savings, risk mitigation, and process optimization within the sub-categories. Strategic Sourcing: Competitively source through engagement of strategic suppliers (i.e., RFx) and application of industry knowledge. Ensure all sourcing projects have clear objectives including financial and operational benefits, aligned with business stakeholders Negotiation & Contract Management: Support negotiations to ensure favorable contract terms that meet business requirements and assist with the execution of complex agreements and SLAs. Drive Innovation: Contribute to sourcing initiatives that drive innovation, cost savings, and operational efficiency in line with the company's broader business strategies. Risk & Compliance Management: Partner with Enterprise teams to ensure sourcing strategies and supplier relationships align with McDonald’s compliance requirements and risk management frameworks. Continuous Improvement: Support continuous improvement efforts, evaluating sourcing processes, performance metrics, and benchmarks to optimize sourcing outcomes. Performance Motivation: Assist in identifying training needs and growth opportunities within the team, ensuring the development of future sourcing leaders and building a best-in-class function. Knowledge and Skill Requirements: Minimum 4-year degree, MBA preferred 10+ years of relevant experience in sourcing in a highly complex environment, in a Global landscape 5+ years’ experience leading teams and managing multiple projects Experience in conducting influential discussions with executive leaders Must have Skills: Strategic Sourcing, People Management, Procurement & Sourcing in lot of categories Good to have: Executive Presence / Communications, Stakeholder Management, Vendor Management, Advanced Sourcing, Contracting Knowledge, Mentoring and Coaching, Project Management, Financial Acumen & Cost Optimization Show more Show less
