As the Engineering leader, you will lead our engineering team to innovate, develop, and maintain our cutting-edge products. Your role will involve strategic direction and technical guidance to the engineering team, ensuring alignment with business objectives and industry best practices stay ahead in the competitive tech landscape. Responsibilities: Oversee the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from conceptualization to deployment, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality software solutions. Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of skilled engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, continuous improvement and excellence. Work closely with product management, design, and other stakeholders to define product requirements, prioritize features, and deliver customer-centric solutions, ensure the product vision is realized through excellence in execution. Evaluate and recommend new technologies, frameworks, tools, and methodologies to enhance our platform's scalability, performance, and security. Develop and implement the overall engineering strategy. Coordinate between departments to align engineering efforts with business goals. Identify potential risks and challenges in the development process and proactively implement measures to mitigate them. Manage the engineering budget and resources, optimize operational costs without compromising quality. Recruit world‐class engineering talent, including attracting, screening, and closing high caliber candidates. Coordinate capital and operational budgeting and forecasting for infrastructure, licensing, vendors, partners and workforce. Work across the IT organization and senior level executives to lead the careful and responsible management of the technical organization. Exercise influence across IT and company-wide operational excellence and scale. Achieve measurable improvements in the organization’s capabilities and effectiveness to perform against expanding workloads and demands for services. Core Competencies: Must have completed bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field. Minimum of 20 years of progressive experience in software engineering, with at least 5+ years in a senior leadership role. Extensive knowledge of software development methodologies, agile practices, and DevOps principles. Strong track record in leading successful software development projects. Proficiency in modern programming languages and frameworks. In-depth understanding of system architecture and design. Exceptional leadership and team management skills. Direct experience in building and managing teams comprised of professional and non-exempt personnel. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Experience in a startup environment. Experience in the mortgage lending or financial services industry is preferred.
