Role Overview

The Senior DevOps Engineer will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining secure, scalable AWS infrastructure. The role involves leading cloud architecture initiatives, implementing robust security frameworks, optimizing deployment pipelines, and ensuring seamless integrations with Online Booking Tools (OBT), Global Distribution Systems (GDS), and transportation services.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and manage AWS infrastructure (EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, VPC, CloudFront, CloudFormation/Terraform, etc.).
• Manage Active Directory integration with AWS Directory Service for centralized authentication and role-based access.
• Design and implement secure network topologies and firewall architectures (AWS Network Firewall, WAF, security groups, NACLs).
• Build and manage centralized logging, monitoring, and alerting solutions (ELK Stack, OpenSearch, CloudWatch, etc.).
• Implement CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline.
• Conduct security assessments and apply PCI-DSS, CIS, and AWS best practices.
• Manage IAM policies, MFA, KMS, secrets management, and encryption.
• Automate infrastructure operations with Python, Bash, Go, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
• Develop disaster recovery plans, backups, and failover strategies.
• Monitor cost and optimize AWS resource utilization.
• Document architectures, processes, and security policies.

Required Expertise

AWS & Cloud Architecture

• Deep knowledge of AWS core services, networking (VPC, subnets, VPN, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect), and cloud security.

Identity & Access Management

• Strong hands-on Active Directory management and cloud integration experience.

Security & Network

• Firewall and ACL configuration in cloud and hybrid environments.
• Familiarity with on-prem firewalls such as Sophos.

Monitoring & Analytics

• Proficiency with ELK Stack, Amazon OpenSearch, CloudWatch, Grafana, or Prometheus.

DevOps & Automation

• Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Go.
• CI/CD pipeline development and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS).

Compliance

• Understanding of CIS benchmarks, GDPR, ISO 27001, SOC 2.

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS Certifications (DevOps Engineer, Solutions Architect, Security Specialty).
• PCI-DSS audit or implementation experience.
• Zero-trust architecture and microsegmentation knowledge.
• Travel domain experience (OBT, GDS, transportation APIs).
