We are currently looking for a Senior Data Lead/Data Lead in India.In this role, you will lead the development and optimization of enterprise-scale data solutions, driving innovation and setting the technical vision for advanced cloud-based data platforms. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design and deliver robust pipelines, mentor engineering teams, and ensure best practices in data governance and performance optimization. This position requires balancing hands-on technical expertise with strategic leadership, offering the opportunity to make a direct impact on business outcomes. Accountabilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, fostering technical growth and collaboration
  • Architect, design, and implement scalable data pipelines and processing systems on AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • Establish data engineering standards, governance frameworks, and best practices
  • Partner with stakeholders to deliver actionable data solutions aligned with business needs
  • Drive the technical roadmap for data infrastructure and platforms
  • Optimize workflows for reliability, performance, and cost-effectiveness
  • Provide leadership in data modeling, ETL/ELT design, and code reviews
  • Support pre-sales engagements with technical solutioning and proposal development
  • Create reusable frameworks to accelerate delivery and maintain documentation
  • Contribute to thought leadership and maintain relevant cloud certifications

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in data engineering, with 2+ years in leadership or engineering management
  • Strong expertise in Python and SQL, with experience writing production-grade, scalable code
  • Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure), Databricks, Delta Lake, and lakehouse architectures
  • Deep knowledge of data warehousing, data lakes, schemas, governance, and performance optimization
  • Familiarity with real-time streaming (Kafka, Kinesis) and orchestration tools
  • Proven track record of designing enterprise-grade data solutions and integrating pipelines with analytics layers
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Experience leading teams in Agile environments and mentoring junior engineers
  • Relevant cloud certifications (AWS Data Analytics, Google Data Engineer, etc.) and awareness of industry regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, or HIPAA
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, business acumen, and adaptability in fast-paced settings
