Senior Consultant- Nutrition, Adolescent Health and Social Safeguards

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Provide technical assistance and programmatic support to the Nutrition and Adolescent Health wing to facilitate implementation of various activities and achieving the objectives defined for SRESTHA Gujarat Project.
• To facilitate workshops, meetings, seminars with stakeholders, regarding Nutrition and Adolescent Health result area.
• Conduct periodic field visits to districts to review programme implementation in the districts, identify implementation challenges and support in charting appropriate solutions.
• Support and supervise systematic collection, documentation and presentation of information regarding Nutrition and Adolescent Health result area, and providing technical inputs to the PMU.
• To coordinate between other wings of PMU as well as with the World Bank and the departments of DoHFW, WCD, Finance department etc, as required.
• Work closely with the task teams and other PMU/ Directorate colleagues to address access and inclusion, equity, and other social issues and concerns under the SRESTHA-G program, as well as provide support on developing strategies, guidelines, and oversee implementation of social safeguard activities including Citizen Engagement and Gender related aspects.
• Provide operational support on social risk management including undertaking regular operational field visits to assist district, block, and field level officials/ teams in identifying social risks, planning mitigation measures, support towards implementation, reviewing social risk management documentation, monitoring and reporting to ensure that social issues are adequately addressed and that program in compliance with the Social Safeguards policies/ ESSA core principles.
• Support and coordinate capacity building; addressing access and inclusion related issues; addressing specific needs of tribal, marginalized and other vulnerable population; promoting gender equality; stakeholder engagement including with other departments/ agencies/ NGOs and civil society organizations, community consultations, grievance redress, labor and working conditions, community health and safety concerns; and other requirements for management of social risks and moving towards social sustainability under the program.
• Will be responsible for helping implement action plans as identified in ESSA and help monitor the same on periodic basis
• Undertake operational research program on social safeguard/ equity/ inclusion/ accountability and transparency related areas and related fields and coordinate with the other directorates and agencies as necessary.
• Support and ensure timely data recording, report preparation and information dissemination in coordination with the PMU, DoHFW and other departments, the World Bank and other stakeholders.
• To facilitate any tasks related to inspections, visits, appraisals by various teams from World Bank, GOI, and other agencies in area of Nutrition and Adolescent Health.
