Job Description

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Compliance & HR Operations professional to join our team as an Assistant Manager. The role requires strong expertise in labour law compliance (with a focus on CLRA Contract Labour (Regulation & Abolition) Act, 1970), HR operational compliance, and hands-on experience in managing client audits, inspections, and compliance reporting. The ideal candidate will bring deep knowledge of statutory requirements, vendor compliance management, and the ability to partner with internal stakeholders and clients to ensure adherence to regulatory frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compliance Management (CLRA & Labour Laws)

    • Ensure end-to-end compliance with CLRA regulations, Shops & Establishments Act, Payment of Wages, PF, ESI, and other applicable labour legislations
    • Maintain statutory registers, records, and returns in line with legal requirements.
    • Liaise with contractors, vendors, and third-party agencies to ensure their compliance with statutory norms
    • Track licence renewals, labour welfare compliances, and maintain updated documentation
  • Client Audit & Inspection Handling

    • Lead and coordinate client compliance audits, statutory inspections, and due diligence exercises
    • Prepare and present compliance reports, audit responses, and corrective action plans.
    • Collaborate with client compliance teams, providing transparency and confidence in HR operations and labour law adherence
  • HR Operations & Governance

    • Support HR operations with compliance-driven processes for onboarding, exits, payroll, and employee documentation
    • Monitor and drive contractor workforce compliance (wages, benefits, safety, and welfare)
    • Partner with internal HR, legal, and business teams to ensure operational excellence with regulatory alignment
  • Risk & Process Management

    • Identify gaps in compliance processes and proactively implement corrective actions.
    • Standardize compliance reporting dashboards and trackers for management and clients.
    • Support internal/external audits and certification processes

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge and working experience with CLRA regulations and other central/state labour legislations
  • Proven track record of client audit handling, statutory inspections, and compliance reporting
  • Experience in HR operations with compliance focus (contract workforce management, vendor compliance)
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders clients, contractors, auditors, and internal leadership
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and presentation skills
  • High integrity, attention to detail, and process-oriented mindset
