About The Role
The Senior Career Counselor will play a pivotal role in guiding and mentoring youth, particularly those from underserved and low-income communities, to make informed, realistic, and aspirational career decisions. This position combines one-on-one counseling, group facilitation, and strategic planning to support youth through their personal and professional journeys—from self-discovery to employability. The individual will also support the broader mission by contributing to program development, outcome tracking, and cross-functional team collaboration.
Your Role In Supplementing The Organisational Goals
- Individual Career Counseling & Planning
- Conduct in-depth, one-on-one counseling sessions with youth to assess interests, values, aspirations, and challenges.
- Guide individuals on educational pathways, vocational training, and career options, tailored to their strengths, circumstances, and goals.
- Assist youth in creating personalized long-term career development plans.
- Career Exploration & Skill Mapping
- Facilitate engaging career exploration activities and assessments to help youth discover career interests.
- Identify skill and knowledge gaps and recommend relevant skilling or upskilling programs.
- Stay updated with local job markets, hiring trends, training opportunities, and government schemes to provide relevant advice.
- Employability & Job Readiness Support
- Prepare youth for employment through resume writing, mock interviews, soft skills training, and confidence-building sessions.
- Deliver workshops, group sessions, and seminars on various career development topics.
- Collaborate with placement and outreach teams to align counseling with real employment opportunities.
- Program Monitoring & Impact Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of counseling sessions, progress, and outcomes.
- Contribute to data analysis and reporting to evaluate the impact of career guidance interventions.
- Support continuous improvement by sharing insights and feedback from the ground.
- Cross-Team Collaboration & Support
- Collaborate with mobilization, training, and placement teams to ensure a holistic and supportive experience for youth.
- Contribute to organizational initiatives, events, and special projects as needed.
- Uphold the culture and values of the company, ensuring it remains a safe and inclusive space for all.
Who We Are Looking For
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Education, Social Work, Human
Resources, or a related field.
- Certification in career counseling or guidance is preferred.
- Minimum 4+ years of relevant experience in career counseling, preferably in youth-focused or non-profit settings.
- Experience working with diverse groups, especially youth from underprivileged communities.
- Strong counseling, mentoring, and facilitation skills.
- Deep empathy and active listening abilities
- Understanding of local employment ecosystems, training institutes, and government livelihood schemes
- Excellent communication skills in English, Hindi, and local language
- Ability to manage groups (25–30 students) and adapt content to different learning levels
- Comfort with data tracking, documentation, and reporting
- Willingness to travel to multiple centers as required
- Immediate joiners preferred.
