Senior Career Counselor

The Admission Counsellor is responsible for guiding prospective students and their parents through the universitys admission process. The role involves counseling students about academic programs, admission requirements, career prospects, and helping them make informed decisions. The counsellor serves as a key representative of Chandigarh University, ensuring a smooth and supportive admissions experience.

Key Responsibilities

Student Counselling & Guidance

• Provide accurate information to prospective students regarding courses, eligibility, campus life, fee structure, scholarships, and career outcomes.
  
• Understand students’ academic backgrounds, goals, and interests to recommend suitable programs.
  
• Conduct one-on-one and group counselling sessions (online/offline).
  

Admissions Support

• Assist students with application procedures, documentation, entrance tests, and enrollment steps.
  
• Follow up with leads generated through marketing campaigns, enquiries, school visits, and education fairs.
  
• Maintain proper records of student interactions and admissions progress.
  

Communication & Outreach

• Handle inbound/outbound calls, emails, WhatsApp, enquiries professionally.
  

Relationship Management

• Build and maintain strong relationships with students, parents, and school/college counsellors.
  
• Address student concerns and provide timely resolutions.
  

Reporting & Coordination

• Work closely with the Admissions, Marketing, and Academic departments.
  
• Prepare daily/weekly reports on enquiries, conversions, and admission targets.
  
• Meet assigned counselling and admission conversion goals.
  

Required Skills & Competencies

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  
• Strong counselling and persuasion abilities.
  
• Good understanding of higher education programs and career opportunities.
  
• Confident personality with ability to handle pressure and targets.
  
• Proficiency in MS Office and CRM systems (preferred).
  
• Fluency in English and Hindi; Punjabi is an added advantage.
