Senior Backend Platform Engineer Location: Gurgaon, India (Hybrid) Type: Full-time | Stage: Stealth | Domain: Social Matchmaking | Backed by marquee investors We're hiring foundational backend engineers to help us scale our core product infrastructure—from authentication to matchmaking delivery, onboarding flows to payments, and beyond. What You’ll Work On: You will be part of the team responsible for the critical backend systems that power the app. This includes: Authentication & Identity: Build secure, scalable sign-up/login and session management flows with support for federated login and OTP. Matchmaking Serving Infra: Design high-concurrency APIS to fetch, cache, and rank potential matches with low latency and personalisation hooks. User Onboarding Platform: Create flexible onboarding pipelines that allow the product team to test flows without backend rewrites. Notification & Messaging Orchestration: Develop systems that support push, email, and in-app triggers to drive engagement. Payment & Subscription Integrations: Implement app store billing logic, receipt validation, and entitlements using Stripe, Apple, and Google APIs. Experimentation Hooks: Build in infra for A/B testing, progressive rollouts, and config-based rollbacks. Who You Are: Have 6–10 years of experience in backend development, preferably in high-scale consumer products (social/gaming/streaming/transactions) Strong in system design with a clear understanding of API design, caching, database modelling, and concurrency. Have AI-first thinking — have built features where ML is part of the user loop (e.g., embeddings search, personalised feeds, moderation, or LLM-integrated flows) Have hands-on experience with modern backend systems, microservices, queues, caching, observability, and horizontal scaling Built/maintained systems with hundreds of thousands to millions of daily users. Exposure to cloud-native environments (GCP, AWS), Docker, Kubernetes, etc. Proficient in Java, Go, or Python (we’re stack-agnostic—but want you to pick the right tool for the problem).
