Job Summary
The Automation Test Engineer will play a key role in designing, developing, and executing automation test suites to support agile product development. This role requires strong technical capability in Python and SQL, solid understanding of end-to-end testing cycles, and the ability to work independently while collaborating closely with development and QA teams. The ideal candidate thrives in complex business environments, brings strong analytical thinking, and can translate business scenarios into robust test cases and scripts.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Work independently with minimal supervision to plan and execute automation testing activities.
- Analyze and understand system specifications, business processes, and integration points.
- Estimate testing efforts and resource needs to support sprint planning and prioritization.
- Collaborate with QA engineers to build comprehensive automation scenarios and test plans.
- Develop and execute automated test cases; analyze and document results.
- Create detailed logs and documentation for test phases, results, and defects.
- Identify, report, and track defects using tools such as JIRA; collaborate with development teams for resolution.
- Support development teams in troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
- Plan and execute regression and post-release testing, ensuring product quality and stability.
Qualifications & Skills
Mandatory
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in automation testing.
- Strong proficiency in Python for test automation.
- Expertise in writing complex SQL queries.
- Solid experience with API testing.
- Comprehensive understanding of the test cycle process and software QA methodologies.
- Experience with web application testing and Continuous Integration processes.
- Familiarity with version control and test ecosystem tools, including GIT, Jenkins, and JIRA.
Good-to-Have
- Experience working in agile environments within BFSI domain projects.
- Exposure to test management tools and automation frameworks.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Ability to analyze complex business logic and translate it into effective automation coverage.
