At ORBCOMM, we are looking for a Senior Architect who is hands-on in design and development and excited to drive the next generation of digital services. In this role, you’ll help shape our transformation from IoT-focused solutions to AI-first SaaS and marketplace-ready applications, directly impacting how our customers manage logistics, assets, and operations worldwide.

What You’ll Do:

Design and implement Java-based microservices and modern JavaScript front-end applications for ORBCOMM’s digital services.

Build APIs and integration frameworks (REST, gRPC, Kafka, JMS) to support track & trace, visibility, and demurrage/detention modeling.

Develop solutions that connect IoT and location data with contextual business information such as assets, booking, and customer data.

Apply API-first and AI-first design principles to deliver fast, scalable MVPs and production-ready solutions.

Define detailed design standards, coding guidelines, and CI/CD pipelines to ensure consistency and quality across teams.

Partner with the Lead Architect to align design and implementation with ORBCOMM’s enterprise reference architecture.

Ensure that all solutions are secure, cloud-native, and optimized for performance across environments.
Who You Are:
You are a security-focused technical leader with deep experience in embedded systems or cloud platforms, especially if you have:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

8+ years of experience in software architecture and solution design, preferably in large-scale, distributed systems.

Strong, hands-on expertise in Java (Spring Boot, JEE, Hibernate, Microservices).

Proficiency in JavaScript frameworks such as React.js (preferred), Angular, or Vue.js for front-end delivery.

Solid understanding of cloud-native deployment (AWS, Azure, or GCP), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and DevOps pipelines.

Experience designing, building, and integrating APIs within managed platforms, including applying monetization models.

Strong problem-solving, analytical, and collaboration skills, with the ability to prototype and code as needed.

Exposure to AI/ML integration in digital product architecture is a strong plus.

Leverage AI-enabled tools and automation to support daily tasks and productivity.
